Isle of Islay

Wild white Islay sea and black rock

A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER

Sitting serenely on the shores of Loch Indaal, the city of Bowmore is immersed in nature of breathtaking beauty. A place unhurried by time, and weighed down with extraordinary history, it continues to write its indelible chapter in whisky's story.

A MAGNETIC ATTRACTION

Home to many of the world's most recognised and respected distillers,
Islay has drawn countless true explorers to its shores. A place of simple pleasures, it rewards those with a restless and inquisitive soul,
revealing its layers and secrets. And like Bowmore, offers the promise of unlocking hidden depths.

Pure
Enigmatic Magic

Our coastline is framed with dramatic black rock. Competing legends hold that the name Bowmore derives either from a Loch Indaal reef or the Norse "bogha mor" for sunken rock. Whichever is true, they perpetually remind us of the value of time.

SEE. HEAR. FEEL.

Nestled in magical, unspoiled scenery, Bowmore has watched over the often wild Atlantic shoreline since 1779. Rich in history and stories, our whisky carries the name of the region's fabled black stones.
